Cevalo's teaching staff is led by Diana Disney, a certified riding instructor with more than 25 years teaching and training experience. In addition to teaching group, private, and semi-private lessons for children and adults, Diana supervises our assistant instructors. Read on for more information about our fabulous staff!
Formerly a competitive show jumper and 3-day eventer in New Zealand, Diana graduated from Morven Park International Equestrian Institute as a certified instructor in 1981 and has been teaching in the Bay Area ever since. In fact, some of Cevalo's advanced students have been riding with her for over 20 years!
Diana works with all students and welcomes beginners through advanced riders.

Jennifer has been teaching at Cevalo since 2003 and offers weekday lessons for 6 and 7 year olds. She's also teaches many of Cevalo's summer camps, and has been an integral part of our stable management team. Her four horses, Buddy, Son, Ronay, and Gemstar, are very popular with Cevalo's students and are also an important part of our riding program.
Jennifer's straightforward, no-fuss approach helps our younger students gain confidence and focus on having fun as they learn about caring for the horses and get comfortable in the saddle.

Dena Disney Whipple
Dena is the daughter of our head instructor, Diana Disney, and was practically "born on a horse". She started teaching when she was just 13, and over the years has taught many of Cevalo's horse camps as well as private and semi-private beginner lessons. In addition to riding in Cevalo's senior drill team "Mares in Motion," she coached our junior team "Fillies Forte".
Dena teaches Cevalo's “Pee Wees on Ponies” classes for 3, 4 and 5 year olds. These classes are designed to help children build confidence and develop their hand-eye and body coordination through games on horseback. Dena also teams up with her Mom for Cevalo's “Mother-Daughter” classes and is developing an outreach program to help children through horses.Dena Disney Whipple on Dancing Jack Ruhls at the California Quadrille Championships in Paso Robles, CA.
